We pick you up from your accommodation in the morning to start our 3 Days Tour from Ouarzazate to Merzouga , to the Dades Gorge, passing the Oasis of Skoura, where numerous ancient kasbahs, some sadly in ruins, stand amongst the palm trees. From here, our route takes us through Kela’a M’gouna, the Valley of Roses, where we stop to see the cosmetic articles made locally from the valley’s abundant blossoms. These products are well-known throughout Morocco and are highly valued.
From here, you take an off-road route to have a better impression of the landscape. You stop in the Dades gorge for lunch after which you have time to walk in the gorges, in the fields and gardens. Spend the night in a hotel or Kasbah.
The trip continues shortly after breakfast to Tinghir and the very different Toudgha gorges, where you can take a short walk to take in the gorge’s steep sides and the narrow sky above.Through Tinjdad, you continue to the Chebbi dunes, the Date Festival-famous Oasis of Tafilalet near Erfoud, and Rissani, the residence of the Alaouite family of the current Moroccan king.You can stop between Erfoud and Tinjdad to explore the fascinating underground water cannels deep below the earth, which keep the irrigation source cool and prevent it from evaporating.
You can stop in Erfoud to observe the transformation of thousands of fossils into a variety of artifacts.Along the way, a Berber village will serve lunch.After being greeted with a cup of tea at the bivouac, you can take a camel ride to the top of the dunes to view the sunset.Dinner is served later, and the night is spent in a nomad tent at the base of the dunes.
If you get up early enough, you can see the spectacular sunrise, when the dunes’ hues and shadows play off one another are stunning.The route continues on to N’Qob for lunch before heading to the Draa Valley via the village of Tazzarine, which was featured in the movie “Babel.”The journey takes us to Tanasikht in the afternoon, where we follow the ancient caravan route to the real Draa Valley with its enormous palm trees and ancient villages.
